Project Details
Wingates worked with leading Tauranga law firm, Holland Beckett, to design and deliver their new workplace at the vibrant Northern Quarter development on The Strand. Across two levels, the fitout prioritises staff wellbeing and experience, with expansive harbour views framing both floors.
The lower level is client-focused, while the upper level supports the day-to-day work of the firm, with key social spaces including a large, central kitchen encouraging connection and collaboration. A defining feature of the interior is the interconnecting staircase, linking the floors both physically and visually, while also acting as a central architectural anchor within the fitout.
Acoustic performance was a critical part of the design brief, with an Acoustic Engineer engaged throughout the project to ensure a high-quality and comfortable work environment. The office celebrates local identity through an extensive art collection featuring works by Kiwi artists, anchored by a suspended centrepiece commissioned in collaboration with local artist Julie Paama-Pengelly, which occupies the central void.
In addition to wellness and training spaces integrated throughout the design, a key objective of the fitout is to support wider community engagement by opening training rooms for community use, reflecting the client’s commitment to giving back.
